It seems that Bobby Peru AKA Mr Paul Woolford can do no wrong these days. With an ever increasing body of quality productions and a list as long as your arm of high profile Dj residencies and bookings this guy really is the man of many a dancefloor moment. For now he's back with his feet on the ground with yet another killer release on his hometown label, following on from the huge success of last years Erotic Discourse, which became our best selling single ever. The Truth is Bobby Peru trademark uncompromising maximal house music, which rides along on a fat explosive live bassline, metallic melodic synths and jack hammer beats. This is being played by everyone from Erol Alkan and Danny Howells to The Glimmers and Nic Fanciulli. Lies is a superb club track with Mr Peru going straight for the jugular again. Reminiscent of the recent Carl Craig remix of Delia Gonzalez, 'Lies' moves along on Peru's discordant drums and crazy arpeggios and is already a highlight in the sets of Ivan Smagghe, Jimpster and Ralph Lawson. Over the last couple of years Paul's career has begun to snowball, aided by strict quality control on his studio work and a succession of high profile gigs, including a prestigious residency on Space terrace for We Love every Sunday. This is on top of his long time place as resident at Basics and more recently for Clubclass at Ministry of Sound. Other clubs and events he's played at and rocked include; Fabric London (in all 3 rooms), Warung in Brazil, Creamfields in Buenos Aires, Crobar In New York, Avalon in LA, and many more the world over. Truth and Lies is part of the build up to the release of Bobby Peru's second album for us, which will be out early 2008.
