Ekkohaus
Ekkohaus was born in Greece, but lives in Berlin where he expertly produces his trademark deep, electronic funk.
At a younger age he studied piano, vibraphone and marimba but after a few years of practice he realised that classical education was missing a very important ingredient, so he went looking for it. Like many he bought his first Roland drum machine and a cheap synthesizer in the late nineties, which was a catalyst for his future production styles, nowadays he combines software and hardware equipment for his production and live performances.
Having spent time in London indulging his love of music and art, studying music technology at LCMM and working in a famous art gallery, his ears were opened to a variety of cultures, individuals, music directions and fresh sounds, which still influence his sound now.
The move to Berlin was to focus on the thing he loves most, music. He has recently started his own night there, "strictly no dancing", a night that focuses in the art of listening and experiencing music,
As well as an excellent live laptop and fx set he is also a handy DJ, with over seven years experience spanning Greece, London (including sets at secretsundaze and Fabric) and now Berlin.
The last few years Ekkohaus has been releasing his music on various labels - Morris Audio, Cargo Edition, Safari electronique,Multi vitamins, Level and Brut.
But now we welcome him to 2020Vision, where his deep, organic, quirky house music may have found its perfect home.
